Frequently asked questions

Who will the tip be assigned to?

Tips are assigned to the staff member who owns the table (i.e., the server linked to that table).

Will customers be able to receive receipts directly?

Yes. After completing the payment, customers can enter an email address to receive the full receipt.

ℹ️ Current limitation:

Only the full receipt can be sent by email. Partial receipts aren’t supported at this time.

Do we support Split Bill and Split by Item on Scan to Pay?

Yes, both are supported.

ℹ️ Current limitation:

This works the same way as with Order Anywhere, Sunday, and other partners:

On the frontend, customers can split by item.
However, via the API, the transaction is processed as a partial payment because API capabilities aren’t fully available yet.

This enhancement is already planned, and we’re working closely to support full API-level split-by-item capabilities.

Will the service charge be displayed?

Yes. Any applicable service charge or discount will be displayed to the customer during the payment flow.

Will there be an option to adjust or disable tipping?

No. At the moment, there’s no option to adjust or disable tipping settings.

For Germany and Belgium, will it be possible to create a fiscal digital receipt?

Not in scope for Scan to Pay.

Currently (and prior to Scan to Pay), the digital receipt generated by the POS backend doesn’t include the QR code required in Belgium for VAT.

Can customers have more than one QR code on the receipt?

Currently, no.

However, with the upcoming Receipt Customization feature, merchants will be able to add multiple QR codes to receipts.

What is the Card-Not-Present (CNP) transaction rate?

2.2%

Will staff be notified when a table or receipt has been paid online?

Yes. The POS will automatically receive a notification message (using Notification Center), such as:

Order [Order Number] paid online
Table [Table Number] paid online

The notification also includes a timestamp so staff can track payment activity.

Will the table be closed automatically after payment?

Yes. Once the payment is completed successfully, the table will be closed automatically.

Can merchants customize the text displayed in front of the QR code?

Yes. Merchants can customize the text displayed alongside the QR code.

Where can merchants enable the QR code setting?

Merchants can enable the QR code feature in multiple places:

1. Payment Receipt Settings
> Enable the checkbox: Activate QR Code

2. POS Configuration
> POS Configuration
> Select the relevant configuration
> Enable: QR Code on Receipt

ℹ️ Future enhancement:

With the upcoming Receipt Customization feature, merchants will also be able to:

> Navigate to the Payment tab
> Open the Receipt Customization section
> Add a dedicated QR Code section directly to the receipt layout
